Spring Break on the Road to Justice

Justice Projects

Every year, several law students join Legal Aid of Arkansas for our annual Spring Break on the Road to Justice project. Legal Aid attorneys and the law students travel through eastern Arkansas to give legal assistance to clients on the spot. In 2016, the program orientation begins at 12:30 p.m. on March 21 in Jonesboro. Students and Legal Aid attorneys will begin helping clients in Brinkley on March 22nd. Then, the group will be in Ash Flat on March 23. The last day of the program is March 24, when the team will be helping clients in Jonesboro. This year’s focus is Employment Opportunity.

Law students are trained to interview, use Legal Aid’s online forms for document production, and work with potential participants/clients. On location, students interview potential Legal Aid clients and assist them with document preparation, working under the supervision of an attorney to provide immediate legal services.
