Legal Aid of Arkansas is a public interest, not-for-profit law firm dedicated to assuring equal access to justice in civil matters for low-income Arkansans. Legal Aid provides free legal services in housing preservation, domestic justice, economic justice, and consumer protection.
We have an immediate opening for a full-time Grants Specialist position which can be housed at any Legal Aid location subject to available space. The position will work closely with the Grants Manager and the financial team.
Job duties may include:
· General grants management activities for an organization with a budget of approximately $10,000,000 from more than two dozen funding sources.
· Manage the billing, invoicing, and performance reporting for the organization's portfolio of local, foundation, and non-federal grant contracts on a monthly, quarterly, or semi-annual basis.
· Assist with gathering expenses and other supporting documentation required for federal grant billing and the completion of related financial forms.
· Perform routine data entry, tracking, and internal auditing to maintain data integrity across multiple organizational platforms.
· Generate reports from Legal Aid’s Case Management, Grant Management, and Accounting systems.
· Assist in preparation for annual financial audits and ensure proper record retention is upheld for all grant performance and financial records.
· Perform other duties as needed or assigned by the Grants Manager, other Fiscal Staff, or Executive Director.
Required qualifications:
· Excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
· Excellent time management skills and proven ability to meet strict deadlines.
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to use advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data formatting to prepare complex financial and grant-related reports.
· Experience in generating and submitting invoices for payment, backed by documented performance. Experience with preparing grant-related performance reports is a plus.
· Experience in fund accounting software and customer relationship management (CRM) platforms. Salesforce CRM and/or Oracle NetSuite Accounting experience is a plus.
· Business-related bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum associate's degree required or significant relevant experience.
Compensation and Benefits: Compensation is based on a competitive public interest salary scale ranging from $44,771 plus, DOE. Benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, and
life insurance; paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave; student loan repayment; and retirement plan.
