Staff Attorney– Housing

Legal Aid of Arkansas is a public interest, not-for-profit law firm dedicated to assuring equal access to justice in civil matters for low-income Arkansans. Legal Aid’s advocates provide counsel in housing preservation, domestic violence prevention, economic justice, and consumer protection.

Legal Aid is seeking a staff attorney in our Little Rock office. Frequent travel related to work activities is required and some occasional evening or weekend time to attend training, meetings, or outreach activities.

The attorney will provide direct legal advocacy, ranging from legal advice and brief legal assistance to negotiations and full legal representation. The attorney is expected to be able to handle a high-volume practice consistent with their experience.

Arkansas Bar Admission or eligibility for reciprocity is required. The successful applicant must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel to represent clients. The position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Salary starts at $72,000 for this full-time position with the potential for experience adjustment. Legal Aid offers health and dental insurance, retirement, Supreme Court and bar association dues, CLE, position-related travel reimbursement and per diem, student loan repayment assistance, and other benefits.
