Technology Lead

Technology Lead Location: Little Rock or Springdale Status: Full-time Salary: $70,000 plus, DOE, plus a generous benefits package. Application Deadline: Open until filled

Position Summary

Legal Aid of Arkansas seeks a thoughtful, mission-driven Technology Lead to help strengthen and advance the organization’s use of technology in service of equal justice. This position will play a key role in supporting staff, improving internal systems, coordinating technology projects, assuring cyber security, and helping the organization use technology strategically to better serve low-income Arkansans across the state.

The Technology Lead will work closely with program, administrative, and leadership staff to maintain reliable day-to-day technology operations while also identifying opportunities for innovation, efficiency, security, and improved client access. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is both hands-on and collaborative, and who is excited about using technology to support public-interest legal work.

Legal Aid of Arkansas is a nonprofit, public-interest law firm that provides free legal services in civil matters to low-income individuals. Its mission is to champion equal justice for low-income individuals and communities and to remedy the conditions that burden and marginalize them. Legal Aid of Arkansas is headquartered in Jonesboro and serves all 75 counties in Arkansas.

Responsibilities

The Technology Lead will:

Coordinate and support the organization’s day-to-day technology operations, including hardware, software, user support, and troubleshooting systems.

Serve as a primary internal resource for staff technology needs, helping ensure reliable, responsive, and user-friendly support across offices and remote environments.

Help manage and improve core organizational systems, which may include case management platforms, document management tools, communication systems, phone systems, collaboration platforms, and website-related tools.

Lead or coordinate technology projects from planning through implementation, including system upgrades, new tool rollouts, workflow improvements, and vendor coordination.

Develop, document, and promote technology policies, procedures, and best practices related to system use, access, security, retention, and continuity.

Support cybersecurity readiness by helping maintain secure user practices, access controls, device management, and response coordination for technology risks and incidents.

Train and onboard staff on technology tools and workflows and help build organizational comfort and capacity with existing and emerging technologies.

Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to identify strategic opportunities to improve efficiency, data quality, reporting, compliance, client service, and access to justice through technology.

Assist with budgeting, purchasing, inventory, and vendor relationships related to technology resources and services.

Perform other duties as assigned in support of Legal Aid of Arkansas’s mission.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

A bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, computer science, business systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Experience supporting organizational technology operations, preferably in a nonprofit, legal services, public-sector, or mission-driven environment.

Strong working knowledge of common business technology systems, including Microsoft 365, cloud-based collaboration tools, user administration, endpoint support, and basic networking concepts.

Experience managing or coordinating technology projects and working with outside vendors or consultants.

Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

A demonstrated commitment to public service, equity, and access to justice.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include experience with legal case management systems, document automation, data reporting tools, website content platforms, technology training, cybersecurity practices, or multi-office support. Familiarity with the needs of legal aid, nonprofit services, or organizations serving low-income communities is strongly preferred.

Work Environment

This position may be based in the Little Rock or Springdale office and may require occasional travel to Legal Aid of Arkansas offices or service areas throughout the state.
