Jennifer found herself caught up in the travails of the Medicaid Unwinding. This was problematic because she is in need of life-saving infusions twice-monthly. When DHS began asking Jennifer for verifications of eligibility before the unwinding began, she knew they could not terminate her benefits…yet. But she wasn’t taking any chances. Jennifer carefully complied with their request. She personally carried the required documents to the DHS office to ensure there were no mistakes. But DHS terminated her Medicaid anyway.
