Jennifer Cobb lives in Elaine and is receiving Medicaid AR Home/Blue Cross Blue Shield. She began receiving Medicaid as a result of the Public Health Emergency in 2020.
Jennifer has basically had no problems with Medicaid until recently. In February, she was experiencing chest pain and feeling faint. Her blood pressure had reached dangerous levels and she went to the emergency room. She was admitted for three days while medical staff tried to bring down her blood pressure. This visit left her with a balance of $3,000 plus which is now in collections.
Jennifer has teeth that need extraction. They are causing her intense pain. She wishes that Medicaid would pay for her dental. After this year, Jennifer says that she will try and save the money to have her teeth extracted. Not having dental is a big concern for Jennifer in addition to having a $3,000 balance from a hospital admittance which she cannot pay.
