Kenita Herring

Kenita Herring lives in Marvell and receives Medicaid.  She receives ARHome.  When she first started receiving Medicaid, she did not have to pay anything for her medications.  She now pays a $4.00 co-pay and sometimes $20.  Kenita gave birth last year.  It appears that she may have been on Pregnant Women’s Medicaid during her pregnancy.  Kenita takes medication for high blood pressure and asthma.  This is her chief complaint.  The most important thing for Kenita is for her kids to be insured.  Her kids have asthma.  She has eight children, and she would not be able to afford their medication or doctor’s visits.  Kenita is a substitute teacher, and this is sporadic work.  She does not have a steady salary but is thankful that she and her children have Medicaid.  Marvell and surrounding areas do not offer many job opportunities for residents in this area.  Medicaid allows her children to have a healthy and productive life.
